Muskoka Living.

The best time ever is when you and your friends can all stand at the end of a dock and jump into the cool lake water on a hot summer day and not have to care about anything but relaxing. Four days up at Lake Rosseau in Muskoka is definitely not enough time, but even though it was only a few days, we had such a good time taking 1500 photo (I made the best video ever with 760 of the stills, check it out) boating along the lake, going out for dinner and just tanning on the dock all day. Here's a few photos of me and my friends having the time of our lives, and my two collaboration photos with my fabulous friends Sammy Tangir and Bea Dres. Go and like their facebook pages, and mine too! We're all very passionate about photography and love what we do! Also check out Sammy, Bea and my flickr pages! We love feedback!

ps. Bea and Sammy are not in these pictures, but I wish I could see them all the time <3

Countdown to Summer.

I countdown the days till I get to go and jump in the cool water of Lake Rosseau in Muskoka, Ontario with all of my friends is on.

Over the next week and a bit I have a lot to accomplish with school and work because school is throwing all the summatives it can at me and I have the weekend before the cottage to do a whole bunch of work, about 14 hours of it, my first few big alone shifts at Tim Hortons. The worst part about these work shifts is there's going to be a new oven I don'tk now how to use, so it's like training me all over again. I am hoping that it just all goes off without a hitch and that I can get everything done right.

So as these next few days are counted down, I will be taking many photos to try and keep myself excited about summer. I want to let the ideas flow out of my brain and take every opportunity that I can to get the right shot and really improve this summer because I will have so much time alone and free time to do all of the things that I love.

I am also super excited about all the free time too because of my Sphere Collaboration with one of my great flickr friends, Sammy Tangir. I an excited that I might get to meet her this summer and that we can finally take a million great photos in the city of Toronto.

So much going on, but so much time to get it done when school is done. I can't wait.

I've hit my wall.

For the past week and a bit, I have been utterly exhausted. I have moved houses at my moms, had a million different school assignments due, been doing horribly in my Chemistry class and trying to keep up in my TA class. I have been reading books for English, and preparing projects for my Travel and Tourism Class. I just got sick yesterday, and today it's even worse. I've taken cold medication that makes me fall asleep in class and I still have a million other things to do and hand in.

Photography is my escape. It's like a portal that takes me to another world. While everything else goes on, I just get to go out and enjoy everything around me, leave reality for that fraction of time and not worry about anything else. If I didn't have photography today, i don't know who I would be. Would I be that girl who just sits around and does her work to coast by high school as a social outcast? Wou;ld I be that girl who decides to not care about her grades and goes out and parties to fill a void that cannot be filled by anything else? I am extremely privileged to be able to be the person I am today, a person who cares about herself and who tries to strive for her best as often as she can. I am glad that I have found something I can be so passionate about.

So even if everything in my life seems to be down and out, I will always have that high and passion of photography to fall back on and lift my spirits to new heights.
